CrimeHalo is an independent product that presents publicly available government and police incident data, readable summaries written from those records, and clearly labelled community contributions. CrimeHalo is not affiliated with, operated by or endorsed by any police department or government agency.

CrimeHalo is not a way to contact the police and must never be used to report an emergency. In an emergency, call 911.

Official records are shown as the agency published them and may be incomplete, delayed, reclassified or later withdrawn by the publisher. Dispatch calls describe what was reported at the time, not a confirmed outcome. CrimeHalo does not guarantee that any record is accurate, complete or current, and information here should not be relied on for decisions about individuals, property or safety without checking the source.

When you post a community report or comment, you confirm it describes what you observed, not assumptions about who was responsible. You must not post names or identifying details of private individuals, private addresses, contact details, licence plates, accusations stated as fact, threats, doxxing, or anything encouraging confrontation or vigilantism.

CrimeHalo may hide, remove or restrict content and accounts that break these rules, lock a discussion, or limit how often you can post. Community content remains user-generated and is never converted into an official CrimeHalo or agency claim.

Each underlying dataset carries its own reuse basis and attribution requirements, listed on the data sources & rights page. Those terms apply to anyone reusing the data.
